Home moves
Moving house, without the day going sideways
Auburn's houses are not new-estate homes with a double garage. They are cottages with tiled verandahs, tight halls and a kerb to park on. We plan the move for the house you actually have.
A house move here lives and dies on two things: the doorway and the street. The older stock around Berala and Regents Park was built with narrow openings and a hall that turns, and most of it has no off-street parking, so where the truck sits matters as much as what goes in it.
We walk it in advance. We measure the front door and the tightest turn, we work out where the truck can sit without blocking a narrow street, and we protect the walls and floors through the pinch points. On the day, the plan is already made, so the crew moves instead of problem-solving.
What a house move usually needs
- Three movers and a truck for a typical two to three bedroom home, at our house rate
- Furniture wrapped in blankets, the fragile boxed and labelled
- Doorways and turns measured beforehand, not discovered on the day
- Wall and floor protection through the hall and any tight corners
- A parking plan for the street, so the truck is close and out of the way
Heirlooms get the care they deserve
A lot of Auburn's furniture came a long way to get here, or has been in the family a long time. Those pieces get wrapped properly and carried by hand, not rushed. Care is the point.
